EVENTS

At Aden, we focus on the mind as well as the body with our monthly wellbeing small group sessions. Managing women’s experiences such as menopause and childbirth as well as more general topics such as low mood and stress, we keep women’s perspectives at the heart of our sessions.

Wellbeing sessions are led by our Consultant Clinical Psychologist and delivered by qualified and experienced health professionals and trainers. Drawing on psychological knowledge and research, we teach evidence-based techniques to help you feel good mentally as well as physically. We offer an hour of psychological theory and practice followed by a further hour of restorative yoga or creative arts. Drinks and snacks are provided.

Sessions run monthly on Mondays from 6 until 8:30pm. Most sessions cost £50, with those requiring the provision of creative arts materials costing £60.

Core Concepts of Wellbeing

Monday 16 th June 2025 6.00pm-8.30pm

Learning about how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours influence our psychological wellbeing, and how this fits with the wider societal expectations of women. We will learn how we can break unhelpful cycles in order to feel better. Using the gentle movements of Restorative Yoga, we will practise allowing the body to unwind and relax.

Managing Mood

Monday 14 th July 2025 6.00pm-8.30pm

Learning how and why we feel down at times with evidence-based methods of improving mood and keeping it steady. We will consider the experience of women, including a look at societal and hormonal factors as well as the particular ways low mood manifests in women. This is followed by arts-based mindfulness to promote meaningful activity and focus on movement.

Stress and Anxiety

What they are all about and how they affect us. We will teach and practice evidence-based techniques to reduce the impact on our lives.
